Sports Awards

The annual Sports Awards to recognise the outstanding skill and performance of Wyre Forest’s sporting heroes is back!

Nominations for Sports Awards are now open and this is your chance to put forward the names of local sportsmen, women and groups who you feel should be recognised for their outstanding achievements during 2017.

You can nominate by visiting www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/sportsawards or emailing Dale.Evans@wyreforestdc.gov.uk by midday on Monday 11 December 2017.

Shortlisted nominees will be invited to a special ceremony at Kidderminster Town Hall on Tuesday 9 January 2018. This event is hosted and funded by Kidderminster Town Council.

There are nine categories at the awards including Junior Sportsman, Junior Sportswoman, Junior Team, Coach, Senior Sportsman, Senior Sportswoman, Unsung Hero, Disability Sportsperson and Club.

There is also an opportunity to sponsor an award from as little as £25. Sponsors’ names and logos will be included in promotional material, on all individual certificates and posters as well as receiving an invitation to the event. For further information about sponsorship at Sports Awards email Dale.Evans@wyreforestdc.gov.uk.

“It is important to recognise those who have excelled or gone the extra mile for sport in the community and the Sports Awards event offers a great opportunity for clubs, coaches and sporting people of all ages to get recognition for their achievements and celebrate the great work currently going on throughout Wyre Forest.

“Last year’s awards proved to be an inspirational evening during which talented and dedicated people were presented with honours for their sporting excellence and I am very much looking forward to the next awards ceremony.
