Local gardeners will be able to bag themselves a great special offer from Wyre Forest District Council at a local horticultural event next month.

Visitors to the Horticultural, Flower and Craft Show at the Mercure Hotel, Bewdley, on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September are invited to stop by the council’s stand and get a host of advice about composting, recycling, reducing food waste and much more.

The team will also be promoting a special garden waste offer: £5 off both the small 140l bin (£32) and large 240l bin (£48.50) with free delivery and a complimentary goodie bag included, during the event, between 10am and 5pm.

Visitors will also be able to purchase packets of wild-flower seeds the council uses to adorn the district’s verges and open spaces during the spring and summer months.

Organisations from around district are taking part in the event and there will also be workshops going on throughout the day.

Councillor Rebecca Vale, Cabinet Member for Operational Services said: “I’m delighted that our knowledgeable team from the Depot will be on hand to offer advice about a whole range of topics from composting to reducing food waste.

“This is also a great opportunity for anyone thinking about getting a brown bin, to find out more about the service and save money too!

“Our wildflowers attract compliments from visitors from far and wide, so I’m particularly pleased that people will have the chance to cultivate their own mini-flower meadows at home.”
