Bewdley Museum re-opens with a bang!
20 February 2018Visitors can immerse themselves in an exotic culture, at the re-opening of Bewdley Museum on Saturday 3 March and explore the East Asian Collection.
The museum opens its doors at 10am and hosts a free, 19th Century Asian exhibition. It will showcase a wide variety of ancient relics, martial art performances and traditional music.
Origami birds created by Jo and Kate Deburg from ‘Planet Art’ will be on display in the foyer, while the main exhibition will feature Japanese hanging scrolls and jade carvings that will give visitors a taste of the Orient.
Throughout the day Taiko drumming performances, weapon demonstrations and Jujutsu skills will be showcased too. The popular Shambles Café will also re-open its doors with an East Asian theme alongside their normal menu.

The collection will give visitors a real authentic flavour of Japanese and Chinese culture and I am sure that the exhibits will prove fascinating.
“From a cultural point of view, Wyre Forest offers a great deal for its residents, and the museum has gone from strength to strength. I am excited about the programme of events planned for 2018 and I am sure that visitors will enjoy everything that the coming season will offer.”
