Gardeners in Wyre Forest can treat themselves this spring by taking advantage of the latest brown bin offer from Wyre Forest District Council’s Depot.

All new garden waste customers from Monday 29 April to Friday 31 May will receive a tray of plants, with a retail value of £10, which includes four pots of mixed herbs and two strawberry plants.

A full year’s subscription to the service costs £49.50 per annum for a large 240ltr bin, and £34.00 for a 140ltr bin with a one-off £20 fee on signup.

Collections provide a hassle-free way of getting rid of garden waste. This includes grass cuttings, hedge and shrub clippings, weeds, cut flowers, leaves, twigs and bark.

Existing customers also have reason to celebrate – they can enjoy 20% off a garden waste or household Jumbo Bin. To hire a Jumbo Bin visit - www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/jumbobinhire.

Linda Draycott, Corporate Director of Community, Wellbeing and Environment, said: “The garden waste service is very popular with residents, it saves time, money and the inconvenience of taking your garden waste to the tip.

“All garden waste collected is turned into compost, so it is also good for the environment, and all income generated from the garden waste service is invested into front-line council services to benefit all who live, work and visit Wyre Forest.”
