Tie the knot at Bewdley Museum

Couples looking to tie the knot with a difference should head down to Bewdley Museum’s wedding fair next weekend.

Visitors will be able to look around the Guildhall within the museum that is licensed for wedding ceremonies at the event which takes place on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March, between 10am and 4pm.

While they are there they will also be able to explore Bewdley Museum’s beautiful Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens, which offer a romantic backdrop to any wedding ceremony.

On both days visitors will have a chance to be guests at mock wedding ceremonies and receptions complete with live music from the Sarah Martyn Acoustic Duo, Bryn Tealing and the Bellini Strings Quartet.

Based in the heart of the riverside Georgian town, Bewdley Museum is one of two venues making up Wyre Forest Heritage Weddings, with the other being Kidderminster Town Hall.

Bewdley Museum will also be hosting an open day on Saturday 27 April, from 11am until 1pm when visitors will also get the chance to sip on a glass of prosecco.

Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Community Protection Councillor Juliet Smith said: “Bewdley Museum is a charming wedding venue that can cater to a variety of different tastes and needs.

“Brides and grooms-to-be should come along to the Wedding Fair to look around,  chat with the Wedding Co-ordinator or take the opportunity to talk to staff from the Register Office.

“Wedding suppliers will also be present for couples to get inspiration for their special day and to make their ceremony as memorable as possible.”
