Deadline to register to vote in By-Election

People living in the Bewdley Wribbenhall Ward have until midnight on Tuesday 7 February 2017 to make sure their name is on the list of voters for the Bewdley Town Council by-election being held on Thursday 23 February 2017.

There are two vacant seats and details about the by-election and the 12 candidates standing are available on the District Council’s website www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/elections

Registering to vote is quick and easy and can be done online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.  Anyone without access to the internet can get a paper copy of the registration form from the Worcestershire Hub at the Town Hall in Kidderminster.

Electors who would like to vote by post or proxy and have not registered for either of these ways of voting will need to apply. Postal and proxy vote application forms are available to download from the Council’s website www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/elections. The deadline for applying for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday 8 February 2017. For applications for a proxy vote, the deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 15 February 2017.

Anyone who lives in the Bewdley Wribbenhall ward and is unsure whether they are registered to vote at their current address should email electoral@wyreforestdc.gov.uk  or contact the Electoral Services Team on 01562 732762.

“We always encourage people to register to vote and make their voice heard.  There may be people who have moved to the area, or young people who have turned 18 since the EU referendum  last June, who are now entitled to vote in this by-election.  Anyone in the Bewdley Wribbenhall ward who will be 18 or over on Thursday 23 February and has not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible.  It only takes a few minutes to complete the form online.”
