A new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ ‘Great Expectations’ is being staged at Bewdley Museum’s outdoor theatre.

Great Expectations.jpgQuantum Theatre will be performing the classic on Saturday 29 July at 7.30pm. It tells the story of how orphan Pip becomes a gentleman when his life is transformed by a mystery benefactor.

Councillor Juliet Smith, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Community Protection said:

“The summer is the perfect time for outdoor theatre offering families a chance to spend time together, share a picnic and enjoy some classic entertainment. Bewdley Museum has developed an enviable reputation for outdoor productions and this show promises to another success.

The award-winning museum has already seen a sell-out performance of ‘Billionaire Boy’ in June and in August the venue is welcoming the international singing trio, Tenuto. A wonderful programme of events has been created and I would certainly urge residents of Wyre Forest looking for something special to do over the summer to take a look at the museum’s programme.”

Tickets for Great Expectations are £12 for adults, £8 for children and £38 for a family. They can by booked online by visiting www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/bookings or by calling Bewdley Tourist Information Centre on 0845 607 7819.
