Residents and visitors to Wyre Forest are being urged to get creative and say what they love most about the district’s parks next week.

Wyre Forest District Council is taking part in Keep Britain Tidy’s Love Parks Week from July 14-23.

Throughout the week several of the district’s park friends groups will invite visitors to write messages on special heart-shaped whiteboards, saying what they love about the park.

People will also be invited to use Facebook and Twitter to share the love - photographs of people’s comments will be collated and posted on the council’s website and social media channels.

Love Parks Week

Cabinet member for culture, leisure and community protection Councillor Juliet Smith said: “We are very proud of our parks in Wyre Forest and we are very keen to support this national campaign and give our residents and visitors the opportunity to say how much our parks mean to them.

“It’s all part of a drive to ensure parks continue to be protected for the enjoyment of many more generations to come.”

Boards will be circulated by friends groups in Brinton Park, St George’s Park, Springfield Park, Baxter Gardens and Broadwaters Park in Kidderminster, in Stourport Riverside and Riverside North Park in Bewdley. Look out for the whiteboards and make sure you take this opportunity to say what our parks mean to you.

More information about the campaign is available on  the Keep Britain Tidy website.
