Rain fails to dampen Rock and Roll Party in the Park
06 June 2017Rain failed to dampen the spirits of more than 1,000 revellers who flocked to this year’s Rock and Roll Party in the Park at Stourport Riverside on Sunday.
They came, dressed in 1950s costume to jive, rock and roll and browse among the 40 plus classic cars from the era.
There were around 20 trade stands at this year’s event, which is organised by Wyre Forest District Council and draws fans from a wide area of the West Midlands.
Cabinet member for Culture, Leisure and Community Protection Councillor Juliet Smith attended the event. She said: “Despite the lacklustre weather the event was extremely well attended with lots of friends and families enjoying the music, variety of stalls and classic cars.
“As usual, it was a fantastic community event organised by Amy Smith and the team.”
Thanks too to Hickmans of Kidderminster for providing the stage for this and other Wyre Forest District Council events.
