An additional 31 Marcuslukecarpark 3 parking spaces have been created at the popular Wyre Forest Leisure Centre in Kidderminster.

The car park extension, which is now complete, should ease car parking shortages during peak times.

On average more than 43,000 people visit the centre on Silverwoods each month. The decision to extend the car park was taken earlier this year to maximise the number of spaces and help reduce congestion in the area.

The work has been completed in partnership with Places for People, the company which runs the centre on Wyre Forest District Council’s behalf.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council said:

“The new leisure centre is exceptionally popular and continues to attract many visitors.

“While there will still be very busy peak periods, we hope these extra parking spaces will go some way to relieve the situation and ease congestion in and around the centre, benefitting users and local residents.”
