Community groups in Wyre Forest are being asked to put themselves forward for a FREE stall at an upcoming Volunteer Fair.

The event celebrating the work of the district’s unsung heroes comes to Kidderminster Town Hall on Thursday 20 September from 10am–2pm. Volunteers who have a stall at the Fair will be able to promote their organisation with the possibility of attracting new recruits.

The volunteer showcase ties into the ongoing 5 Ways to Wellbeing campaign organised by Wyre Forest District Council with the theme of August and September being ‘Give’. Research into improving personal happiness has shown that committing an act of kindness such as volunteering can boost personal wellbeing.

Jennifer Moreton, Principal Health and Sustainability Officer said: “We’re really pleased with how the 5 Ways to Wellbeing campaign has been going so far. In August and September we are focussing on giving so we ask volunteers to come along and promote all the great things they do.

“It is hoped this event will raise awareness about the wide range of causes being tackled by people at the heart of our community. I urge any groups, big or small, to apply for a stall today.”

If you are interested in putting forward your organisation forward for a stall at the fair please email Elaine.Halford-Bishop@wyreforestdc.gov.uk before Friday 4 May 2018.
