Tributes have been paid to Wyre Forest District Council member Rod Wilson who sadly passed away at his home this morning (Monday 16 July).

He was a serving councillor on Wyre Forest District Council, having been elected to represent the Bewdley and Rock ward in 2016.  He had been a member of the licensing and planning committees. Outside of his council duties he was also involved with helping the housing association. He was a member on several boards and served on various committees.

Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council, Councillor Stephen Williams said:

“We were all saddened to hear the news of Rod’s passing today. Rod was well known and liked in the community. He was a dedicated councillor, attending meetings even when he was fighting his illness. I would like to send his family and friends the sincere condolences of everyone here at Wyre Forest District Council. “
