Encouraging older people to keep learning will be part of this year’s Showcase of Services for Older People.

The event, on Thursday 5 July at Kidderminster Town Hall, will highlight opportunities for older people to try new things and rediscover old interests as part of Wyre Forest District Council’s 5 Ways to Wellbeing campaign.

There will also be free advice and information on a wide range of topics including healthy living, finances, benefits, staying safe and lots more.

The event runs from 9.30am until 1.30pm. Entrance is free and free refreshments will also be served.

Councillor Chris Rogers, Cabinet Member for Housing, Health and Well-being at Wyre Forest District Council said:

“It’s great that the showcase is once again highlighting the wide range of services available for older residents in our community.  There will be lots of useful information on hand on a wide range of topics of interest to older people which could really help improve someone’s health and wellbeing.

We would like more people, including older people, to get involved with our 5 Ways to Wellbeing campaign.  During June and July we’ve been focussing on ‘keep learning’ and in August and September we will be discovering the ways we can ‘Give’ which can help our wellbeing too.”
