Wyre Forest District Council has issued an appeal for information following a criminal break-in at its Operational Services Depot in Kidderminster.20180912Depot Van2

Raiders targeted the Depot in Green Street during the early hours of Tuesday 11 September, causing significant damage to two refuse vehicles and a van. Grounds maintenance equipment including power tools ranging from grass trimmers to leaf blowers and a digital screen were also stolen during the raid.

The intruders also vandalised a storage area operated by Wyre Forest Dial-a-Ride.

The council is asking anyone who may have seen or heard any illegal activity taking place between midnight and 5am at the Depot to contact West Mercia Police by calling 0800 555 111.

Councillor Rebecca Vale, Cabinet Member for Operational Services said: “We would really like the public to help us track down those responsible for this attack. Not only has it put a number of vehicles out of action, it has also caused distress to the Dial-a-Ride volunteers who provide such a great service to the public.

“If anyone saw or heard anything on Tuesday 11 September which could help West Mercia Police with their investigation please let them know.”
