Arrangements for bin collections over the festive period have been announced.

Householders who have Wednesday and Thursday collections should look out for special labels that will be attached to their bins, advising them of alternative arrangements.

The changes affect only residents who usually have Wednesday and Thursday collections.

People whose recycling collection would have fallen on Christmas Day (Wednesday 25 December) will be asked to put their green bins out on Monday 23 December.

Residents who would ordinarily have their recycling collected on Thursday 26 December are asked to put out their bins on Saturday 28 December.

There will be no bin collections on New Year’s Day (Wednesday 1 January). Instead black bins will be collected on Monday 30 December.

There will be no changes for residents who have Tuesday and Friday collections.

Sharon Clifford-Smith, Wyre Forest District Council’s operational services officer said: “We always try to keep any changes to a minimum to save disruption to our residents. This year it is people with Wednesday and Thursday collections who will be affected.

“We will be promoting the new arrangements by attaching special labels to all bins in those areas. If you have Tuesday and Friday collections normally, there will be no changes over the festive period.”
