There are more than 150 candidates standing in the local elections taking place in the Wyre Forest district on Thursday 2 May 2019.

All 33 seats are up for election on Wyre Forest District Council. There are also Bewdley Town Council and Stourport-on-Severn Town Council elections. All other parish council elections are uncontested.

Kidderminster Town Council elections will take place in May 2020.

More information about the candidates and the election can be found in the Upcoming Elections section of the council’s website www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/elections .

There is still time for people living in the district to register to vote, if they have not already done so.  If someone is not sure whether they are registered at their current address (for example because they have moved since the elections in May 2018), it is quick and easy to register online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.  The deadline is midnight on Friday 12 April 2019.  Anyone without access to the internet can get a paper copy of the registration form from the Customer Service Centre at Kidderminster Town Hall.

Voters can also vote by post or proxy. Anyone can apply for a postal vote which allows voters much greater flexibility about when they complete their ballot paper.  Anyone not already registered for a postal or proxy vote will need to complete an application form, which is available from www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/voting.  The deadline for new postal voting requests is 5.00pm on Monday 15 April 2019.  For proxy votes it is 5.00pm on Wednesday 24 April 2019.

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on Thursday 2 May. Details of their locations can be found on the council’s website. www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/pollingstations

The count will be held at Wyre Forest Leisure Centre on Friday 3 May, starting at 9am.
