Referendum

A referendum relating to Chaddesley Corbett Neighbourhood Plan was held on Thursday 11 September 2014. The question which was asked in the referendum was:

‘Do you want Wyre Forest District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Chaddesley Corbett to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’ 

The Referendum area was the Parish Area of Chaddesley Corbett and was identical to the area which has been designated as the Chaddesley Corbett Neighbourhood Area.

The Referendum was conducted in accordance with procedures similar to those used at local government elections.

There were 328 votes cast in total, of which 265 (81%) were in favour of the plan, to 62 (19%) votes against the plan.  One ballot paper was rejected and the turnout was 27.8%.

Examiner's Report

The Examiner's Report for the Chaddesley Corbett Neighbourhood Plan was received on Monday 23rd June 2014. It concluded that with some minor amendments the Plan meets the Basic Conditions and can progress to a local referendum. The report concluded that the referendum area should be the designated Neighbourhood Area which is the Parish of Chaddesley Corbett.

On 22nd July 2014 the independent examiner's report was considered at a Cabinet meeting. Cabinet decided that minor modifications should be made to the Chaddesley Corbett Neighbourhood Plan, as set out in the examiner's report, and proceed through referendum.

The decision statement has now been published.

The referendum will be held on Thursday 11th September 2014.

Publication

The Chaddesley Corbett Neighbourhood Plan was submitted on Tuesday 8th April 2014. A consultation period ran between 14th April and 27th May 2014. In consultation with Chaddesley Corbett Parish Council, we appointed Peter Biggers BSc Hons MRTPI AIHBC to examine the Neighbourhood Plan to make sure it meets the Basic Conditions.

Consultation on Draft Neighbourhood Plan

 

Chaddesley Corbett Parish Council consulted on their draft Neighbourhood Plan between Monday 13th January and Monday 24th February 2014.  The Parish Council will consider the representations received and it is anticipated that the Neighbourhood Plan will be submitted to the District Council during April 2014.

Frontrunner Grant

Wyre Forest District and Chaddesley Corbett Parish Council were successful in their bid to take part in the Neighbourhood Planning Front Runners Scheme and have secured a Government grant of £20,000 to help to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan for Chaddesley Corbett Parish.

 

Neighbourhood Area Application

Following an application made by the Parish Council, Wyre Forest District Council has designated the Parish of Chaddesley Corbett as a Neighbourhood Area for the purposes of neighbourhood planning.  The District Council held a six week consultation on the application between 24th May and 14th July 2012.  No responses were received.
